What is Google Search?
Google Search finds information from across the web. Its homepage is a public search entry point; signing in adds account-related settings and personalization. Results are pointers to sources, so the destination page is usually the place to confirm context, dates, and details.

A practical way to use Google Search
For a known organization, check the domain instead of assuming the first result is the intended page. For changing information, look for a publication date and distinguish an old article from the current state of the subject.
Troubleshooting
Results are broad or about the wrong meaning of a word.
Add identifying context and remove words that introduce an unrelated interpretation. A specific product name or quoted phrase can make a query easier to interpret.

Do I need to sign in to search?
Public web search generally works without signing in. Account features and saved preferences can require a Google account.
Do I have to sign in first?
Public access and account features are different. Start with the Open button; if your chosen action needs an account, the destination will prompt you there.
Do I need an account with The Login Link?
No. This directory does not require registration. The Open button takes you to the service; any account credentials are entered there.
