What is Google Dataset Search?
Dataset Search helps discover datasets described by providers across the web. It points to source repositories and accompanying metadata. Finding a dataset does not automatically provide a downloadable file or permission to use it for every purpose.
Open the right destination
You can use the public entry point without an account for basic browsing or the available public tool. Sign in when you need account-based features or when the selected action asks for it.

- Open the source repository to inspect the data, license, format, and documentation.
A practical way to use Google Dataset Search
Before analysis, check how the data was collected, what each field means, and whether its time period matches your question. Keep the source version and retrieval date with the working copy.
Troubleshooting
A result has no immediate download.
Follow the provider’s access instructions. Some datasets require registration, a request, or a different access method; the search engine is not necessarily the data host.
Common questions
Does appearing in search certify a dataset’s quality?
No. Evaluate the original provider, methods, completeness, and suitability for your research question.
Do I have to sign in first?
Public access and account features are different. Start with the Open button; if your chosen action needs an account, the destination will prompt you there.
Do I need an account with The Login Link?
No. This directory does not require registration. The Open button takes you to the service; any account credentials are entered there.
